Men ondersteunt initiatieven die Zeeland en de Zeeuwen vooruithelpen. En die een structureel effect hebben in alle lagen van de maatschappij. Nieuwe initiatieven, maar ook bestaande projecten die een nieuwe fase ingaan, hebben een bijzondere aandacht van het fonds. Speciale aandacht gaat uit naar projecten die zonder bijdrage van het fonds geen doorgang vinden.<br /> <br /> Het fonds vervult een maatschappelijke rol.
