Als predikant van de Franse gemeente te Norwich werd hij in augustus 1656 afgevaardigd naar het colloquium der Waalse kerken te Londen. Op 29 april 1657 vertrok hij naar Zeeland, vanwaar hij 27 juni daaraanvolgend een schrijven deed uitgaan, dat zijn ouders zijn terugkeer naar Norwich beletten. 1 Augustus 1658 werd hij naar Serooskerke beroepen, in december 1660 naar Vlissingen als zevende predikant. Te Vlissingen werd hij, getuige de classicale akten van 9 december 1666, volstrekt onbekwaam bevonden, maar hij weigerde emeritaat aan te vragen (hij was toen 34 jaar).
