Zo kaapte hij met zijn compagnon Gillis Laren in de periode 1 mei tot 21 mei 1676 twee Duinkerker kapers van 22 en 10 stukken, twee Franse oorlogsschepen van 14 en 8 stukken, benevens een dubbele sloep en enige barken en vaartuigen. Om deze reden werd hij door de Zeeuwse admiraliteit bij de Staten-Generaal aanbevolen voor een beloning van zijn diensten.
