Daarna, in 2014, werd zij benoemd tot directeur van de Stichting Welzijn West-Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, die vanaf 1 januari 2016 onderdeel werd van Porthos Sluis. <br /> <br /> ==Politiek actief==<br /> In 2012 stond de in IJzendijke woonachtige Joyce Vermue voor het eerst op de PvdA-kandidatenlijst voor de Tweede Kamer. Zij stond echter te laag om gekozen te worden. In september 2015 werd ze alsnog geïnstalleerd in de Kamer omdat Manon Fokke wegens zwangerschapsverlof tijdelijk uit de Tweede Kamer stapte. Korte tijd later, op 5 november 2015, werd Joyce Vermue permanent lid van de Kamer omdat partijgenoot Martijn van Dam onverwachts vertrok vanwege zijn benoeming tot Staatssecretaris van economische zaken.<br /> In de Kamer hield Joyce Vermue zich onder meer bezig met financiën (rijksuitgaven), onderwijs en cultuur (subsidiebeleid) en zorg (geneesmiddelen). Af en toe profileerde zij zich ook duidelijk als Zeeuws Kamerlid. Zo vroeg zij samen met partijgenoot [[Albert de Vries]] de regering nadrukkelijk aandacht te besteden aan de verslechtering van de werkgelegenheid in Zeeland en ook aan de instandhouding van de ziekenhuiszorg in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.<br /> Voor de Kamerverkiezingen van maart 2017 stond Vermue op plaats 38 van de PvdA-verkiezingslijst. Veel te laag om herkozen te worden, want de PvdA hield maar 9 zetels over. Hierdoor blijft het verblijf van Joyce Vermue in de Tweede Kamer beperkt tot slechts anderhalf jaar.<br /> <br /> ==Burgemeesterschap==<br /> Na haar Kamerlidmaatschap was Joyce Vermue van 2017 tot 2019 adviseur en teamleider Beleid &amp; Kwaliteit bij ZorgSaam Zorggroep Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Per 1 juli 2019 werd Vermue geïnstalleerd als burgemeester van de Brabantse gemeente Zundert.
