Stond te Geffen en Nuland (N.Br.) van 1688-1702, werd door bemiddeling van de Middelburgse burgemeester Herman van de [[Putte]] te Serooskerke (W.) beroepen, waar hij van 1702-1707 stond en daarna te Vlissingen van 1707-1728, waar hij tegelijk rector van de Latijnse school was. Hij schreef een groot aantal boeken op theologisch gebied, onder andere ‘De beide Zendbrieven van den H. Apostel Paulus aan Timotheus’ (1707), ‘De CL Psalmen Davids in dichtmaat gebragt’ (1711), ‘De eenige troost of de Heidelbergsche Catechismus geopent’ (1713), ‘De gekruiste en verheerlijkte Christus’(1719). Bovendien heeft hij enkele Latijnse geschriften vertaald, onder meer Boëthius, ‘Vertroostinge der wijsbegeerte’ (1703) en Minutius Felix, ‘Octalus of vervolg op Boëthius’ (1712). Hij is echter vooral bekend gebleven als schrijver van de ‘Walchersche Arkadia’ (1715-1717; 2 dln.), een van de verdienstelijkste navolgingen van de ‘Batavische Arkadia’(1637) van Johan van Heemskerck. Het eerste deel werd nog in 1715 herdrukt; beide delen verschenen nogmaals in 1746.
