Hij schilderde aanvankelijk onder de naam Ramanandra en werd geïnspireerd door Oosterse mystiek. Bekend werden zijn schilderijen van draperieën. Ook maakte hij een plafondschildering in theater De Wegwijzer te Nieuw- en Sint Joosland. De Muynck laat zich in zijn werk vaak door de (klassieke) oudheid inspireren en noemt als inspiratiebronnen onder meer de negentiende-eeuwse schilder Lawrence Alma-Tadema, de Pre-Rafaelieten, Jeroen Bosch en Salvador Dali.
