Zij debuteerde met enkele meisjesboeken, waarvan vooral De Orchidee van 5 A (1924; 1955) bekend werd, en schreef na 1945 een aantal, meest historische romans, w.o. De humeuren in de straat der weduwen (1953). Voor dit boek dat in het 18e-eeuwse Middelburg speelt, ontving zij in 1954 de Middelburgse Stadsprijs voor literatuur. Levensgevaarlijke mannen (1965) speelt zich ten dele in Goes af.
