Heeft zijn broedgebied in Nederland in westelijke richting uitgebreid en komt nu onder andere voor in de bossen bij Bergen op Zoom. In het broedseizoen van 1966 werd deze soort regelmatig gezien hij Domburg. Er kon echter geen broedgeval worden vastgesteld. In de jaren 1973-1977 werd ook op twee plaatsen in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen broeden vermoed. Aangezien de zwarte specht broedvogel is van uitgestrekte naaldbossen en gemengde bossen is het niet waarschijnlijk dat deze soort in Zeeland ooit een algemene soort zal worden. Verder is de zwarte specht in Zeeland een zeldzame zwerfvogel buiten de broedtijd, vooral in de duinstreek.<br /> <br /> Groene specht (Pícus Víridis).
