Luscombe worked as editorial assistant at Strategic Direction Publishers in [[Maidenhead]] (1990), as reporter, producer and newsreader at radio stations 2CR-FM, BBC Radio Solent, BBC South and the BBC Radio Newsroom in London (1992-1998). Between 1998 and 2002 she was Head of External Relations at [[Bournemouth University]]. After moving to the Netherlands she taught English Conversation classes at the [[Goese Lyceum]]. In August 2004 she started at the [[Roosevelt Academy]] (nowadays [[University College Roosevelt]] (UCR)) as instructor, tutor and PR Advisor to the Dean. Luscombe taught Rhetoric, Journalism and other communication related courses. She had a teaching fellowship at the [[University of Central Missouri]] in 2010 and was a Fulbright teaching and research fellow at [[Bard College]] in 2017.
